2.  What is the timeline for reaching the 12,500?
Because September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month, we are determined to reach our goal of 12,500 people joined together in support of childhood cancer research from September 1 to September 30.

3. If I already participate in a MileStones Walk  can I still participate in the virtual walk?
Yes! And we hope you will. The MileStones Virtual Walk for 12,500 is a targeted effort during the month of September and is taking place only on the web.  If you have participated in a walk before, please log in using your previous login name and password to have access to your address book.

4. Can anyone participate in the MileStones Virtual Walk for 12,500? 
YES!  That is the wonderful thing about the MileStones Virtual walk for 12,500, friends and family can join together from all over the globe by participating as a virtual walker or supporting a team or participant via the web.

5. Do I need to form a team to participate in the MileStones Virtual Walk for 12,500?
No. This campaign is truly about bringing together 12,500 people, either as virtual walkers or supporters. However, forming a team can be a great way to fundraise for the virtual walk. Walking on the web as a team and raising money together can be great fun!

6. What is the minimum age to participate? 
There is no minimum age for virtual walkers or supporters.  Children who wish to get involved as a virtual walker or supporter are encouraged to do so with the help of an adult, as you will need a credit card to participate online.

7. Does CureSearch help with fundraising?
Yes. Once you register for the walk you are able to set up a personal fundraising page to help you reach your goals. Registered participants also have access to fundraising tips and ideas and are included in coaching messages sent via e-mail regularly.

8. Where does the money go that is raised through the MileStones Virtual Walk for 12,500?
Money raised through this and other CureSearch sponsored events is used to support the lifesaving research of the Children’s Oncology Group.  The Children's Oncology Group is the world's largest cooperative cancer research organization. Together, we are committed to conquering childhood cancer through scientific discovery and compassionate care.

9. What is the Children’s Oncology Group?
CureSearch Children's Oncology Group is a network of more than 5,000 physicians, nurses, and scientists whose collaboration, research and care have turned childhood cancer from a virtually incurable disease to one with an overall 78% cure rate

10. Is there a minimum fundraising amount?
No. However, we encourage each participant to raise a minimum of $125. When you register you will be charged a $10 registration fee.

11. Will I receive any prizes or rewards for raising money in support of the 12,500?
Yes, we want to reward you for all your hard work! Participants who raise a minimum of $50 will receive a personalized certificate of appreciation and those who raise $250 and above will receive a certificate and a CureSearch duffle bag.

12. Can I hold events in my community to help raise awareness about the virtual walk?
Yes. Spreading the word about raising funds for childhood cancer research is always a great thing. If you do plan to hold an event to spread the word about the MileStones Virtual Walk for 12,500 please encourage all those that you invite to go on the website and register as a virtual walker or donate to your team. Remember our goal is to reach 12,500 individuals in support of childhood cancer research in the month of September.

13. How can I spread the word and help CureSearch reach the goal of 12,500?
Once you sign up as a virtual walker you will find tools in your participant center to help get you started. We encourage you to use this tool to send e-mails to all your friend, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc., and ask them to join you in the fight to conquer childhood cancer by joining your team or supporting you by making an online contribution.
